Pulmonary Rehabilitation

The respiratory therapy department at Bluffton Regional Medical Center specializes in the treatment of:

  • acute breathing problems associated with traumatic injury, heart attack or stroke
  • asthma
  • bronchitis
  • emphysema
  • COPD

Our respiratory therapists are trained in managing life support devices, airway management, mechanical ventilation and other aspects of critical care medicine. Therapists respond to all emergency situations and participate in our code and rapid response teams. Respiratory care practitioners are available in our hospital 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

Family members and friends are invaluable during the rehabilitation process and are welcome to attend and participate in pulmonary rehabilitation programs as well.
