Cardiac Rehabilitation
At Bluffton Regional Medical Center, we're all heart. Our cardiac rehabilitation services help people living with heart disease or who are recovering from a cardiac event like a heart attack or bypass surgery build endurance and strength. But it's not all about the body's strongest muscle. Our program looks at the whole person, creating an individual plan that combines supervised exercise, education and lifestyle changes specific to each patient based on their age and abilities.
Family members and friends are invaluable during the recovery process and are welcome to attend and participate in cardiac rehabilitation programs with their loved ones.
Benefits of cardiac rehabilitation include:
- Controlled and/or reduced risk factors for future cardiac events.
- Increased strength and stamina allowing a person to return to normal activity levels more quickly
- Mood enhancement
- Reduced hospitalizations
- Stress management education
